Six SSPDF soldiers reportedly killed in Warrap State

Six SSPDF soldiers have reportedly been killed after suspected Arab nomad militias overran Kur military base in Twic county of Warrap state.

SSPDF Forces had been deployed in Kur area to facilitate the movement of Arab nomads and the Dinka as stipulated in the agreement for peaceful cattle migration in the area.

Police inspector in Twic county, Lt. Col. Machol Deng Atem, says suspected Misseriya militias took away some military belongings after they overran the military base.

Machol says the attackers had withdrawn by the time reinforcement was sent into the area. 

An operation to pursue the attackers is ongoing.
