The topography and lithology of the mountain do not suggest Gebel Halal as tagged(?) (Source: A. Shams, Sinai Peninsula Research, 2018)
A Chalcolithic game trap Desert Kite (5th millennium BCE) is located in Wadi El Hadira to south of Gebel Halal. A tribal battle took place between Tayaha tribe (10th-13th centuries CE) and Sawarka (17th century CE) and Rumiylat (18th century CE) tribes in 1846 CE to the south of Gebel Libni and to the east of Gebel Halal. 'Arynat tribe inhabits the vicinity of Gebel Halal, where the Ottoman forces used Bir El Hadira on Darb EL Sherif for water supply during WWI in Sinai Peninsula in 1914-17 CE. The first asphalt roads from the Bitter Lakes to El Auja in Negev Desert along El Darb El Masry to the north of the mountain and from El Shatt on the Gulf of Suez to El Qusaima on the border of the Negev Desert along Darb El Sherif to the south of the mountain were constructed by Shell Company in 1939 CE and the Egyptian Corps of Engineers in 1950-51 CE (and later extended to the east in 1956-58 CE) respectively.
