Senior South Australian of the Year Reflects on the Royal Commission
Episode 1315, Mar 04, 2021, 04:32 AM
Wading through the Aged Care Royal Commission, two issues struck South Australian Citizen of the Year Richard Bruggemann.
One is that not enough is being done to meet the higher order needs of older people in residential aged care and the need for a sense of accomplishment and fulfilment. The other is that people with disabilities over 65 receive far less generous and supportive packages for in home care than their younger counterparts.
Professor Bruggemann is a Professorial Fellow in Disability and Inclusion at Flinders University. He joins Jennie Lenman in this podcast to share his perspective.
