Possible Landmark Licensing Rules For Guide Dog Access On The Horizon
Season 1, Episode 653, Feb 02, 2021, 10:26 AM
Sight loss charities like RNIB have been supporting many guide dog owners who have been illegally, refused access to places like shops and restaurants.
It now looks like Westminster Council are considering a change to the content of their licensing regulations, which would strengthen the laws around these demeaning refusals and could, hopefully, set in motion changes by other councils.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Samantha Fothergill, from RNIB, and guide dog owner John Dickinson Lilley.
They discussed the proposed changes and John told us about some of the refusals that he has faced, many times, in London.
