Pandemic restrictions have made it harder for those with sight loss to get out and about, use public transport and go shopping.

As we plunged into lockdown, earlier in the year, many blind and partially sighted people found it extremely difficult to get their shopping or safely socially distance when out and about.

UK sight loss charity RNIB has worked with retailers, the Cabinet Office, and local government to improve safe mobility for those with sight loss.

This work has included creating a best practice guide to help retailers deliver a safe service to their blind and partially sighted customers.

RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to Steve Packer, from RNIB, and Charlene Ferguson, who has felt wary about stepping over her doorstep because of her sight loss.

If you would like to learn more about the help that RNIB can offer to help you through the pandemic restrictions, go to www.rnib.org.uk or call the Helpline on 0303 123 9999.
