A new study points to the lifesaving role that pets have played in 2020 and why governments need to sit up and take notice.

Lead author of Pets, touch and COVID-19: why our furry friends are lifesavers, Dr Janette Young at the University of South Australia, says considering the enormous social and physiological support animals provide humans, that hospitals, hospices and aged care facilities should be encouraging pet connections with residents.
