Minister Basham & Mark Parnell on the Controversial GM Decision

Episode 1253,   Nov 03, 2020, 02:28 AM

The State Government has rejected the request of 11 Hills Fleurieu Councils to remain free of genetically modified (GM) crops.

SA’s Primary Industries Minister David Basham said that outside of Kangaroo Island, there is no substantial evidence to justify any council area remaining GM-free, while Greens MLC Mark Parnell said the arrangement has been a 'hoax' and an unfair waste of time and resources for councils.

Minister Basham and Mr Parnell join Jennie Lenman to discuss their perspectives in this podcast.

Mark Parnell's interview starts 6 minutes in.
