New Guidance For Sighted Guiding In England.

Season 1, Episode 502,   Sep 04, 2020, 08:00 AM

The relaxing of lockdown rules and social distancing guidelines has meant that many of us can get out and about more and more.
This, however, has thrown up some barriers for the independent mobility of blind and partially sighted people, who may sometimes require extra guiding in places like shops or train stations.
RNIB has been campaigning, with other charities, for the creation of regulated guidance which takes the needs of people with disabilities into consideration, when it comes to guiding or support when out and about.
RNIB Connect Radio's Allan Russell spoke to John Dixon, RNIB, to learn about the positive changes for blind and partially sighted people in England.  We also hear from Hollie, herself visually impaired, to learn more about her hopes for the official guidance.
