Does wearing glasses increase the risk of spreading germs?

If you’re one of the 45-million people in the UK who wears glasses then you’re much more likely to touch your face when you’re wearing a mask, according to new research.

This can of course lead to the higher risk of catching COVID-19. Eight out of ten spec wearers say they touch their face because their mask has caused their glasses to fog up.

So what can we do to stop this from happening? Steven Scott found out about a new product from Essilor called OptiFog that claims to stop glasses from misting up. He spoke with Optometrist Mike Killpartrick.
