Trucking heroes #1: Mike and Dee Sharpley. Driving in the middle east, Volvo F88, 22 years in a Foden 4455

In this special episode of the Truck & Driver Podcast, Dougie Rankine (Editor of Truck & Driver Magazine) talks to veteran driver Mike Sharpley and his wife Dee on a trip down south to visit his 22 year old Foden, as he's recently retired from the road at the age of 80! Mike tells us about his start as an owner-driver, heading out to the middle east, working in Saudi Arabia with his Volvo F88 and much more. Dee also tells us about her experiences as a truck driver.
Mike bought his Foden 4455 CAT 3406E in 1998 brand new and has run it until 2020! Having only just retired he tells us all about how he came to own the truck and why he kept it for so long. Look out for the feature on the truck in the November issue of Truck & Driver.
