Military Court in Yei lines up 75 SSPDF soldiers for trial

Seventy-five soldiers of the Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) accused of gross human rights violations against civilians, are set to appear before a military court in Yei, Central Equatoria State.

The 3-man tribunal was set up after public outcry of rape, murder and extrajudicial killings of civilians.

Army spokesperson, Maj Gen. Lul Ruai Koang, says the sessions have begun with investigations before the actual legal proceedings.  

Radio Miraya spoke to army spokesperson Maj Gen Ruai in this brief interview.
