Episode 1316,   Jul 14, 2020, 10:19 AM

The University of Juba is making plans to introduce alternative learning methods including online learning for students to continue classes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof John Akec told Radio Miraya that the university is in the process of mobilizing resources to upgrade its ICT infrastructure and capabilities for students to be able to download lessons and learning materials.

The plan is to start delivering the online classes at the start of the new academic semester in August.

Students with no access to the internet will be supported with hard copies of learning materials.

The University Senate met with the government in Juba last week to explore remedial methods to keep the campus running as schools and learning institutions remain closed as part of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
