Piece based on Discovery shuttle by Ian Haygreen.
"Since it was about the space shuttle Discovery, astronomy and space-related subjects have interested me since childhood,, I knew that NASA had sound files on their website and they were bound to have some relating to the Discovery, so it was easier enough to go onto NASAs website and download a dozen sound files from the various Discovery missions. All the the sounds on the piece, except the static (from 4:24) are from the NASA sound files which have had minimal processing done to them: some had a little reverb on some of the tracks."
Part of the Smithsonian Treasures project, a collection of new sound works inspired by items from the Smithsonian Museums’ collections - for more information, see http://www.citiesandmemory.com/smithsonian
