The emptiness of home

Mission, USA lockdown recording by Amancio Mercado.

"The story behind the sounds is the tension that now echoes throughout my home as people have ceased conversation and the daily visits that used to fill my days with joy no longer occurring, with only the wounds of silence and the tapping of my fingers against the wall to fill the tension before I turn on the sewing machine to make handmade masks in order to prepare for what may come in the near future.

"The snapping of the threads and the breaths echoing the stress that this has brought to us nothing good coming from the machine meant to help us make the masks as it works for one moment before stopping the next.

|For us, it is a matter of staying isolated and trying to find some thing to do throughout the stressful times that this virus has begun to put us through. My message to the global community is stay safe."
