Taking Stock: Sensex drops 1200-point on weak global cues; Nifty below 8300

A selloff in global markets, weak global cues, rise in COVID-19 cases, as well as MSCI deferring changes to the Foreign Inclusion Factors to May review weighed on sentiment on Wednesday. The S&P BSE Sensex plunged more than 1200 points while the Nifty50 closed below 8300.
