Soundscape of a formerly busy avenue in Porto
Mar 31, 2020, 11:10 AM
Porto lockdown sound recorded by Bernardo Bento.
"I live in an area with a city park nearby and one of the most busy streets in Porto. All of a sudden, with almost everyone in quarantine, I noticed a big difference in the soundscape.
"In this recording all you can hear is a guy playing basketball all by himself, very few people jogging and the occasional car (probably going home from work), besides of course, the noise from the city.
"I am very proud of my city, Porto, because this recording was made at 6 p.m., which is one of the busiest hours in the day and, as you can hear, almost no one is outside. They're inside their homes, as everyone should also be."
