The morning after rain on the periurban fringe

New South Wales lockdown sounds recorded by Kim Goldsmith.
"Located 10km from the centre of a major regional city in Central New South Wales, on the peri-urban fringe, I wake to the same birdsong and barking dogs as always.
"On this morning, a day after much-needed rain on the back of years of drought, the moisture drips from hard surfaces, keeping slow time.
"The COVID-19 pandemic swamps our communication channels and our public lives have been dismantled. But just for a moment you could think everything was okay."
