Morning Chorus at the Birdfeeders
Mar 25, 2020, 03:35 PM
Cincinnati lockdown sounds recorded by Rich Bitting.
"I recorded the dawn chorus in my backyard focusing on my bird feeders.
"Ohio is under a "stay at home" order. The usual sound from the traffic and airplanes was noticeably sparse. I did, however, hear the horns from a train switching yard about two miles away. The leaves have not yet sprouted so the soundscape is filled with distant sound.
"I did notice a predominant hum from the neighborhood heat pumps and furnaces. The temperature this morning @ 6:50 AM was 42°F."
