Urban nature walk

Kyoto railway station walkway reimagined by David Leith.
"When I first listened to the field recording I kept being reminded of the sounds of nature, especially birds being interwoven within the ambient urban soundscape.
"The reimagined space then became a walk through different urban spaces. The droning part soundscape was derived from a MIDI translation of the pitches from the original recording.
"This was edited, played back and granulated using a Tasty Chips GR-1. This was layered with various versions of the original recording. Finally a melody was added to a few different sections again using pitches from the original recording."
