Two leading trade bodies have called on Belfast City Council to suspend its enforcement action against businesses which have put up Christmas banners and signs without permission.

Ten Square Hotel, located just behind the City Hall, has been ordered to remove two banners bearing festive messages including "Happy Holidays Belfast".

The hotel says it didn't know that it needed to seek planning permission and is taking legal advice.

Hospitality Ulster and Retail NI, the groups that represent hoteliers and traders, say the council's action is a slap in the face to businesses.

Stephen spoke to Ten Square director Stephen Carson, Director of Retail NI Glynn Roberts and Business owner Michael Deane.
