MPs have passed a bill that will provide compensation to victims of historical institutional abuse. It had been feared Parliament would be dissolved for the election before the legislation could receive royal assent, but the government fast-tracked it through the Commons in just over an hour. The Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith spoke about Jon McCourt, of the Survivors North West group. The legislation will now receive royal assent before becoming law. Vinny spoke to Jon McCourt.
