Although 5-2 is a pretty favorable record to have, I believe that it's become apparent that the Buffalo Bills' on-field play wasn't as sustainable as many people would believe. On Sunday, at home, the Bills were manhandled, to put it nicely, by the Philadelphia Eagles, and it left very little to be optimistic about.
The windy weather in Orchard Park didn't slow the Eagles from flying on this day, and rebounding big, to keep the race for the NFC East within reach. Philadelphia's run game, which isn't the team's strong suit, exposed the Buffalo Bills' defense, taking a whopping 218 yards on the ground.
Offensively fared even worse, as the Bills' offense was contained to 98 yards of rushing, and 169 yards passing. Buffalo's defensive struggles weren't helped much by the offense, and allowed the Eagles to have 12 more minutes.
It was a little less than an average performance for Josh Allen, who is averaging 220.7 yards a game. Games like these are why many fans, and journalists, see more from Allen as a passer, as defense can't win every game. Though it should be noted that play calling didn't help his case today much either.
In hindsight now, this loss to Philadelphia shouldn't be taken as the team is spiraling downward. Buffalo has show character and resiliency all season, and that hasn't been confined to their 60 minutes every Sunday. They have an opportunity to bounce back against the Washington Redksins next Sunday, and we will again see how this team can handle adversary.

Billswire podcast hosts Matt Johnson and Jeremy Juhasz discuss the loss, and if this Bills team is capable to battle with the best that the NFL has to offer.
