Campaigners against the rising state pension age for women are regrouping after a defeat at the High Court.
Judges ruled against the Back to 60 group and its allies, saying the increase in the retirement age couldn’t be stopped, and that the changes had been communicated adequately.
The rise in the state pension age for women in line with that of men, was triggered by MPs in 1995, and has accelerated since then, with the government arguing a move away from manual work, and an older population living longer, make the changes essential.
