A preemptive Mets postmortem and exciting fundraiser updates

Season 1, Episode 25,   Sep 18, 2019, 12:20 PM

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, a show by the women of Amazin’ Avenue where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin by looking back at a Mets season that has been largely put to rest by a 1-3 stretch over the weekend. We think about where we see the offseason taking the team and share our appreciation for what has, at the end of the day, been a pretty fun and memorable season.

Next, we read some listener emails - one of our favorite activities! We talk a bit about topics you’ve suggested, and check in with the cross-Atlantic contingent of Mets fans!

We also update everyone on the Dollars4Dingers meetup and raffle this Saturday at Mikkeller NYC by Citi Field from 2-4pm. If you haven’t yet bought your raffle tickets for the Syndergaard and deGrom signed baseballs, get to it!

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Amazin’ Avenue Audio podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts.

You can follow A Pod of Their Own on Twitter (@apodoftheirown) and you can also follow all of our co-hosts on Twitter: Allison McCague (@PetitePhD), Maggie Wiggin (@maggie162), and Linda Surovich (@LindaSurovich). You can also email the show at aa.apodoftheirown@gmail.com.
