Over the weekend the Northern Ireland Amublance service faced significant staff shortages with crews from the Republic having to help out on Friday and Saturday. The NIAS had appealed for staff to come to work over the weekend over difficulties filling rotas.
Sources have claimed the service is at "crisis point".
