Juliet Conlin has an MA in Creative Writing and a PhD in Psychology. She works as a writer and translator, and lives in Berlin. Her novel 'The Lives Before Us' is a story of survival, community, exile, and friendship. Inspired by real-life testimonials, diaries, essays, and the author's interviews with survivors, the story follows two women who were forced to make the same choice - flee their homes, or face incarceration by the Nazis.
