In memory of the grand Rosetta

Rosetta mission sounds reimagined by Millie Wissar.
"The piece is inspired by the great distances the Rosetta spacecraft had to travel to arrive at comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko (67P). I aim to explore the idea that Rosetta’s presence still exists somewhere in space and that the last communication would still be stored in Rosetta’s memory, waiting for someone to listen to it. This piece is how I imagine it would sound like. The abrupt edits and use of delays represent the distance and loss of signal. The mechanical sounds that oscillate evoke the spacecraft, panned in different directions to represent Rosetta’s body orbiting through space. Because time, as we know it on Earth, isn’t the same as what it would be in space, the piece has long “silent” moments as a way to entrain the listener into the feeling of floating through space."
