Brooklyn MUST win

Season 1, Episode 12,   Jun 17, 2019, 12:19 PM

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, the podcast from Amazin’ Avenue focusing on the Mets’ minor leagues.

This week, Steve Sypa is down in South Carolina scouting the Fireflies, so Ken Lavin and Lukas Vlahos are on their own to discuss the past week of Mets minor league baseball. We begin with a discussion of how the various affiliates fared last week, which quickly devolves into a discussion of the pettiest series in affiliated baseball.

After that, we discuss our hitter and pitcher of the week, Ronny Mauricio and Chris Mazza before running through some of the pitchers in the system who could potentially be in line to fill in for Noah Syndergaard while he’s on the 10-day injured list.

Next we preview the return of short-season baseball, and review some of the players we’re looking forward to seeing in Brooklyn.

We then move into a short discussion of where we’d like to see the Mets assign 2019 first round pick Brett Baty after he gets his feet wet in the complex, before wrapping up by looking back on the career of outfielder Eudy Pina in this week’s installment of Oh Yea, That Guy.
