A new approach of supporting vulnerable people in police custody is underway in Kent.

The Criminal Justice Liason and Diversion Service has launched its new model - assessing everyone for any health or social needs.

It's now introduced practitioners who will meet individuals and identify what support can be offered to them - during the criminal process.

It could involve help for things like mental health, disabilities or substance abuse.

Gemma McSweeney is the service manager.
