Treat obesity as a disease not the result of poor lifestyle choices - that's the call from the Royal College of Physicians
Most of have put on a few pounds over the Christmas holidays. But we're talking this morning about those who are seriously - even dangerously - overweight. The Northern Ireland Department of Health says 63% of adults here are either overweight or obese. Should obesity now be classified as a disease? The Royal College of Physicians thinks it should be. The doctors' professional body says: "It is important to the health of the nation that we remove the stigma associated with obesity."
