More than 2-and-a-half-thousand electric vehicle chargers are to be installed in Tesco car parks.
Volkswagen is backing the scheme as it tries to clean up its image after its diesel emissions scandal.
Within three years, drivers will be able to use 7-kilowatt chargers for free, or pay for a rapid charge.
