The Morning After Hour 1, Nov. 28th: College Football playoffs, Robert Townsend, street ballers, and more...
Gabe Morency, Michelle Serpico, and Corey Parson open the show talking about the College Football playoff picture, saying teams like Ohio St. and Oklahoma control their own destiny. The gang chats with actor and producer Robert Townsend about his documentary about his film, The Five Heartbeats. Talking about some of Townsend's films has Gabe remember his time in Los Angeles, and how there were street basketball players that were better than most guys in the NBA, but said drug and mental issues hindered these guys from being NBA stars. Michelle's social update includes a story of how UFC President Dana White slammed Oscar De La Hoya for being a "cokehead;" Gabe thinks White is threatened by De La Hoya, who has become a big time MMA promotor for Bellator. The gang also remembers when De La Hoya was pictured wearing boxing gloves and women's lingerie. Gabe brings up how Stony Brook University did a study that proves late-night tweeting of NBA players leads to poor performance on the court; Corey at first thinks this is a correlation to mental illness.
