In the 1990s, young foreign women working as hostesses in Tokyo disappeared without a trace. They had one thing in common: they met a man called Joji Obara.

Tokyo, 1992. The mysterious death of a young Australian woman working as a hostess in Japan goes unsolved.
Eight years later, a young British woman disappears under similarly mysterious circumstances.
All eyes turn to wealthy Japanese playboy, Joji Obara – a man who had no known friends and refused to ever have his photo taken. He was eventually dubbed: The Beast with a Human Face.
This is a sordid story about what happened to countless foreign women, working in Tokyo in the 1990s.
