Born on the kitchen table in Springville (the back woods) of Lake City, Florida and armed with only a Funnel, a can of Silly String and some Guava Jelly, Spike was determined to take on the air waves with a different angle to everyday sports and news.
When it comes to Informative, Controversial, Entertaining and Educating, (ICEE), no one on the radio dial compares to “Spike on the Mic”. His high energy, inviting personality and explosive nature is just one reason the WORLD could only expect great things…Give me a Break…Who is writing this stuff???
Spike’s radio career began back in 2003, when friend Scot Brantley offered him a chance to sit in on his show. The pilot light was lit. It was like feeding a stray cat. (They never leave). From that point on he volunteered in any capacity, FM (Country, yeah I said Country) and AM (talk), just to be part of the station.
His pulsating personality on and off the air was recognized and he was eventually offered a position. The pay was just enough to buy a loaf of bread (to spread the Guava Jelly on) and a gallon of milk, and Spike’s reply was…
“Just Give Me the Mic!”…
