The Bank of England is running a campaign for people to nominate who should be on the new plastic £50 note. They want a character who is widely admired and who has made an important contribution to society and culture. It can't be a fictional person, or anyone who's still living. And they have to be easily recognisable. Vinny got the views of journalist Jim McDowell and the commentator Fionola Meredith.
