Hometown hero and true freshman signal-caller Holton Ahlers made his starting debut for the Pirates. The former DH Conley HS star had 475 total yards--406 passing, 69 rushing--but he and the ECU offense's inability to protect the football led to their demise against the tenth-ranked Knights.
