"When I was assigned this recording and first listened to it, I knew I wanted to work with the colobus chorus. But for a long time I wasn't sure what to do with it. Until I started to search for a melody inspired by the field recording. The melody slowly formed, gradually refined by the memory of the chorus, and the piece came together easily after that."
