UNV Spotlights Olivia Victoria Davies, Civil Affairs Officer South Sudan

Ms. Olivia Victoria Davies, is a Civil Affairs Officer in the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. During her UN assignment, she has had the opportunity to contribute to peaceful co-existence within and between communities in Central Equatoria region of South Sudan, as well as coordinate with the military in achieving UNMISS mandate.

She has contributed in building the skills of pastoralist, national armed forces, women’s groups, and civil society organizations to mitigate inter-communal conflict and prevent violence.

Ms. Olivia started her career with UNICEF Sierra Leone since 2008 by supporting community development through evidence-based research that informs policies.

Prior to joining UNMISS; Olivia was Senior Programme Officer in the Peace building Unit at the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD). She leads in the design and implementation of the unit’s programmes in Liberia and South Sudan.
