UK Ambassador calls for ‘concrete actions’ for success of revitalized peace deal
The United Kingdom says it will initially monitor the implementation of the peace agreement before it extends its direct support. UK Ambassador to South Sudan Alison Blackburne said the parties must demonstrate commitment through concrete actions including ceasing hostilities, granting full humanitarian access and ensuring greater political and media freedoms.
Ms. Blackburne spoke on the Miraya Breakfast show this morning, saying her government will hold off any direct support until these actions have been demonstrated.
