Expert says rate of suicide on the rise among young South Sudanese
As we commemorate World Suicide Prevention Day today, a medical expert working with the World Health Organisation is highlighting the increasing rate of young people taking their lives in South Sudan and says preventing suicide is a collective responsibility.
Dr. Mogga Joseph, the W-H-O focal point for Non-Communicable diseases says close to 20 people per one hundred thousand (100,000) commit Suicide in South Sudan. Dr. Mogga details some of the common drivers.
