Shock collars for cats and dogs banned in England - joining Scotland and Wales - is it time NI did the same?
Electric shock collars for cats and dogs will be banned in England, the government has announced. It means they join Wales and Scotland who have already taken steps to prevent the use of electric collars. The training devices deliver up to 6,000 volts of electricity to control animals' behaviour. Environment secretary Michael Gove said this causes unacceptable "harm and suffering". It means Northern Ireland could soon be the only part of the UK where electric shock collars for dogs and cats are not banned. Would you ever use one? Would you like to see them banned in Northern Ireland too? Or are there situations where the use shock collars can be justified?
