We’re two weeks on from results day for GCSE and A Level students, with the government pushing vocational qualifications harder than ever.

But although it’ll be some time before we know where school leavers end up, there’s a warning sign from one key industry.

A survey from the Institute of the Motor Industry shows two thirds of parents would discourage their children from apprenticeships.

And it climbs as high as 80 percent for the motor industry itself.

The Institute’s CEO, Steve Nash, says the findings aren’t a surprise.
