Heartiest Felicitations on KARGIL DIWAS - 26 Jul 2018. On this day 19 years back the Indian Armed Forces gave a stunning defeat to Pakistan by evicting Intruders who had occupied winter vacated posts on the icy heights from Mushko in Dras, Kargil and Jubbar heights in Batalik in one of the fiercest battles fought under all odds and most challenging conditions. Our troops had to go through the final assault against a spray of enemy bullets, blast of grenades, bombs and shells. Junior leadership was at it's best leading from the front like Capt Vikram Batra whose war cry 'Dil Mange More' filled his men with utmost Josh and enthused them to fearlessly charge at the enemy entrenched in well fortified bunkers. The enemy took to their heels abandoning occupied position leaving their wounded and dead behind. Our troops also exhibited great sense of humanity in dealing with the enemy left behind and performed last rites of the dead with honour and religious rituals. Media played a sterling role in telecasting the battlefield scenes in living room of the general public thus boosting spirit of patriotism amongst proud Indians at home and abroad. India gained international fame and Pakistan misadventure was exposed.

Let us remember those who gave us victory and pay tribute to the Martyrs who laid down their lives fighting for the Country.
