SRSG Confirms UN Peacekeeper Killed in attack along Yei – Lasu Road

A peacekeeper from Bangladesh serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan was killed on Tuesday, after unidentified gunmen ambushed a humanitarian convoy along the Yei – Lasu road.

The Special Representative of the Secretary General, who is also head of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan has described the attack as a tragedy.

He explains the circumstances under which the peacekeeper was killed.
