John Humphrys - Tease!

So, the BBC trails department mulls over the best way of selling in a Radio 4 programme. The concept is painstakingly-written by talented hands. The words are carefully delivered; and mixed alongside pithy quotes. The production is then scheduled at peak time.

All goes according to plan, until the promo is aired in Today on February 27th 2012. New boy Justin Webb, even volunteers a bit of enthusiasm for the forthcoming programme. That is just a step too far for Mr. Humphrys, who cannot bring himself to feign much interest in it at all. His agreement and its intonation are in beautiful discord. One gets the feeling he has, at one time or other, maybe made his views clear about having these things in the middle of Today...
