‘We ate wild fruit and walked for days‘ : Refugee’s journey to safety
Hakim Makuach has lived as a refugee in Ethiopia for nearly 20 years and has no greater wish but to return home to South Sudan.
Makuach witnessed the death of his father to conflict and suffering of his mother as she struggled to bring him up in a foreign land.
Representing the South Sudanese community at the High-Level Revitalization Forum in Addis-Ababa, Makuach is urging the parties to expedite the process so that refugees would be able to return home.
He speaks about his hopes for peace with Radio Miraya's Gabriel Shadar.
