20180516 (Sri Lanka reimagining)
Coconuts falling in Sri Lanka, recorded by Stéphane Marin, reimagined by Man Bartlett.
"I used the original field recording (consisting of some men talking, birds chirping and the falling and cutting of coconuts somewhere in Sri Lanka) as the source material for a psychedelic, drone-tastic, meditative journey through the tropics. The first step involved adding digital delays, reverb and filter effects to the source file, which I recorded to cassette. I then played the cassette on an Onde Magnétique OM-1 (similar to a Mellotron), while adding another layer of effects using Empress Effects’ Echosystem. After re-recording digitally I added back in snippets of the original file." Image by Stephane Marin.
