The world's largest aquaponics farm - in Anderlecht

Brussels is now home to the largest (4,000m²) aquaponics farm in the world. Located on the roof of the Foodmet, the latest food hall to be built at the Anderlecht Abattoir and part of the new master plan for the site. Specialising in the circular economy, Architect Steven Beckers is the founder of Building Integrated Greenhouses (BIGH) which has built this farm. He tells us about the project in which raising fish is combined with growing vegetables.
