The Nifty50 is expected to open flat on Wednesday tracking muted trend seen in other Asian markets. The index closed 47 points higher at 10,739 on Monday.

Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a negative opening for the broader index in India, a fall of 19 points or 0.18 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 10,743-level on the Singaporean Exchange.

The S&P 500 edged higher on Tuesday after comments from a Trump administration official on trade with China and the Mexican economy minister on the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement provided cause for optimism, said a report.

Asian equities held steady while the dollar traded near a four-month high as investors await the Federal Reserve’s upcoming policy statement for clues on the future pace of US monetary tightening, it said.

MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was little changed, while Japan's Nikkei eased 0.2 percent and South Korea's KOSPI slipped 0.3 percent.
