MSF to launch Cholera Vaccination Campaign in Juba today
Between June 2016 and February 2018, South Sudan experienced its longest recorded cholera epidemics, with 20, 00 suspected cases and more than 400 deaths reported.
To avert a possible recurrence, the Medical charity group , Medicins Sans Frontieres Also known as Doctors without Borders is today launching a four – week preventive Oral Cholera Vaccination Campaign in Juba, targeting residents in twelve city suburbs.
MSF vaccination manager, Jack Rack Gomer, said vaccination alone cannot stop the spread of cholera. A lot more needs to be done, he told Susan Dokolo.
